The South Carolina Supreme Court ruled that community organizations whose members own property in historic neighborhoods close to a proposed passenger cruise facility expansion in Charleston may pursue their claims against the state’s Department of Health and Environmental Control and the state Ports Authority challenging the “propriety of state environmental authorizations.”

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Supreme Court ruled that community organizations whose members own property in historic neighborhoods close to a proposed passenger cruise facility expansion at the Union Pier Terminal in Charleston have standing to pursue their claims against the state’s Department of Health and Environmental Control and the state Ports Authority challenging the “propriety of state environmental authorizations.”
