Criminals’ medical info isn’t public record in Hawaii

HONOLULU — A federal court in Hawaii declined to grant a legal nonprofit access to the criminal competency evaluations and medical records in underlying cases, finding that the state entitles public access to court records but not necessarily access to direct medical information that is referenced in court filings.
