Covid-19 in Prison

A federal judge ruled the Texas Department of Criminal Justice must provide inmates at the Pack Unit — located about 60 miles northwest of Houston — with tissues, cleaning supplies, face masks, hand sanitizer and unrestricted access to hand soap and disposable hand towels. The court ruled that the order was necessary to reduce the inmates’ risk of serious illness or death from exposure to Covid-19.
