Court To Review Damages In Microsoft Patent Case

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Federal Circuit told a lower court to reconsider the amount of damages Microsoft must pay to inventor Carlos Armando Amado for infringing his patented software in several versions of Office Suite. The district court failed to explain how it calculated the damage award of 12 cents per copy, the circuit ruled.
