(CN) - A California appeals court revived an employment discrimination lawsuit against United Airlines that has drowned the California court system in more than 15,000 pages of legal documents.
Iftikhar Nazir, a man of Pakistani descent, sued the airline, where he worked for 16 years, claiming he was fired after enduring harassment and discrimination.
After both sides engulfed each other and the court in thousands of pages of arguments, the trial court ruled for United.
However, the San Francisco-based First District Court of Appeal said the case must go to trial, ruling that the trial court granted "what may well be the most oppressive summary judgment motion ever presented to a superior court."
Justice Richman ruled that eight issues of disputed fact still must be settled in the trial court.
