Court OK’s Patients’ Right-To-Know Law

TALLAHASSEE (CN) - The Florida Supreme Court ruled that a 2004 amendment to the state constitution giving patients greater access to their medical records - including information about medical malpractice and misconduct - applies to existing records and does not require additional legislation to put it into effect. The court also severed provisions of Florida law that conflict with the amendment.
