Court Allows RICO Suit over Recycled Cameras

CHICAGO (CN) - The 7th Circuit revived a class-action racketeering lawsuit accusing Hartford Computer Group of repackaging used cameras and selling them to Wal-Mart as new.

A three-judge panel overturned the district court's ruling that RWB Services, the original camera distributor, failed to show that a "pattern of racketeering activity both factually and proximately caused an injury."

Judge Flaum said RWB sufficiently pleaded causation under the Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act.
