Couple Say They Were Taken For $340,000

MANHATTAN (CN) – Taler Resources defrauded a couple of $340,000 in a phony deal with the Democratic Republic of Congo, the couple claims in Federal Court. The plaintiffs say Taler and the four Canadians who run it claimed to have the right to buy 600,000 tons of scrap metal from Congo’s Defense Department, for $15 a ton, but it was a boondoggle.

Roger and Punit Menda also sued Erwin Braich, his daughter Talia Braich, Satinder Dhillon, all of Abbotsford, Canada, and James Nekrasoff, of Canada and Antigua.
The Mendas are represented by William Poppe with Poppe & Bhouraskar.
