LOS ANGELES (CN) - Countrywide Financial Corp. faces another federal class action, this one accusing the subprime mortgage lender of illegally selling customers' private financial information to third parties, without customers' consent.
Plaintiffs claim Countrywide sold their Social Security numbers, names, addresses, phone numbers, credit information and other sensitive personal and financial information to unauthorized parties.
Plaintiffs demand an injunction and damages for conversion, credit violations, unfair competition, privacy invasion, and other charges. Their lead counsel is Rosemary Rivas with Finkelstein Thompson of San Francisco.
The 31-page complaint includes 63 pages of attachments.
