Country Singer’s Boyfriend Sues Tabloid

LOS ANGELES (CN) - "CSI Miami" actor Eddie Cibrian says gossip magazine Life & Style defamed him in a story that he cheated on his girlfriend, LeAnn Rimes, just months after he allegedly left his wife for the country singer. Cibrian demands more than $2 million from the magazine and Bauer Publishing Group.

Cibrian called Life & Style's journalistic integrity "nothing more than lip service."

According to his Superior Court complaint, a Nov. 4 post on the weekly magazine's blog accused Cibrian of cheating on Rimes with his former girlfriend, actress Scheana Jancan, and claimed that he "bragged" to fellow "CSI" actors about "hooking up" with an unidentified woman in New York.

Cibrian says Life & Style repeated the accusations in print in its Nov. 16 issue.

He says Life & Style refused to verify the rumor and never gave him a chance to respond to it.

Cibrian filed for a divorce from model Brandi Glanville in August, after 8 years of marriage; Rimes announced her divorce from Dean Sheremet in September.

Cibrian and Glanville have two sons.

Cibrian is represented by Stanton Stein and Maribeth Annaguey with Liner Grode & Stein.
