Corruption in New York Seems Unending

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (CN) - A trash company official pleaded guilty Tuesday to federal charges of bribing the supervisor of the Mount Vernon Public Works Department to let him overbill the city for $1 million. Albert Tranquillo III admitted he submitted false invoices for 4 years. James Castaldo, whom he bribed, is serving 5 years for mail fraud.

Tranquillo aka "Allie Boy" faces up to 30 years in prison for conspiracy and bribery, plus fines and restitution.
