SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - The ex-wife of a corrupt police commander was sentenced to three years probation for secretly installing spy software on a police officer's phone.
Kristin Nyunt pleaded guilty to criminal charges of wiretapping in November 2014, after being indicted a month earlier. She was sentenced Monday.
Federal prosecutors said Kristen Nyunt possessed several spy programs, including Mobistealath, StealthGenie and mSpy.
She is the ex-wife of former police Cmdr. John Nyunt of Pacific Grove.
The sentencing is the latest in a wide-ranging scandal involving the couple.
They also admitted defrauding victims through Nyunt Consulting Investigations Services between 2010 and 2012.
John Nyunt pleaded guilty in December to federal charges of possessing stolen firearms that were donated to the department under his watch.
