Corporations Claim Humboldt County’s|Campaign Finance Law Is Unconstitutional

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - Two corporations claim Humboldt County enacted an unconstitutional campaign finance law that "forbids all election-related contributions and expenditures by nonlocal corporations." Voters approved Measure T in June 2006. Mercer, Fraser Co. and O & M Industries ask the Federal Court to enjoin it.

Measure T's full name is the Humboldt County Ordinance to Protect Our Right to Fair Elections and Local Democracy.
