OAKLAND, CALIF. (CN) - Corinthian Colleges dba Everest College dba Bryman College failed to provide the services it promised in its Surgical Technologist program, and allowed its instructor, Micah Pearce, to sexually batter and harass two students, knowing he had done it to other women before, the women claim in Alameda County Court.
The women both studied at the Alameda campus. Both say Pearce sexually groped them. They claim Pearce "attempted to 'justify' his conduct by indicating that later as female surgical technologists the two would suffer like conduct from male doctors."
The women, who did not know each other before they met in class, sent a joint letter to Pearce's bosses, but say they received no response. They claim college administrators acknowledged the Pearce had been accused of this before. And they claim the college did not provide them with the education and opportunities it advertised and promised. They demand punitive damages. They are represented by Curtis Allen of Redwood City.
