Cops Sue Pasadena After Fatal Shooting

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Two Pasadena police officers and their union demand that the City of Pasadena be enjoined from releasing the cops' names today. The uniformed officers, patrolling in a marked car, shot to death Leroy Barnes, allegedly a member of the Bloods, as he sat in the back seat of a car on Feb. 19. The officers claim that release of their names will subject them to retaliatory murder by the Bloods. And they claim that no media organization has demanded that their names be revealed.

The Pasadena Police Officers Association claims in Superior Court that Pasadena and its Police Department plan to release the officers' names today. They want that enjoined. They are represented by Elizabeth Gibbons with Green & Shinee of Encino.
