Convicted Priest

The Maine Supreme Court upheld most of former priest Ronald Paquin’s convictions for gross sexual misconduct for abusing an altar boy in the 1980s. Paquin was portrayed in a 2015 film, Spotlight, about a Boston Globe investigation into child abuse by Catholic clergy. 

PORTLAND, Maine — The Maine Supreme Court upheld most of former priest Ronald Paquin’s convictions for gross sexual misconduct for abusing an altar boy in the 1980s. Paquin was portrayed in a 2015 film, "Spotlight," about a Boston Globe investigation into child abuse by Catholic clergy. 

His conviction on one count violated double jeopardy, the court ruled.
