Convicted of False Bomb Threat Against Plane

ST. LOUIS (CN) - A St. Louis man was convicted Wednesday of federal charges of reporting a false bomb threat against an airplane.

Dorian Williams called St. Louis Airport Police on Jan. 15, 2010 and claimed a passenger would be carrying explosives onto an airplane. The claim was false.

Williams, 36, was convicted of one felony count of conveying false information about placing explosives on a commercial aircraft, and one felony count of using a telephone to convey false information about an attempt to injure, kill, or destroy property by means of explosives. The verdict came after a 3-day trial. Williams faces up to 15 years in prison at his Oct. 23 sentencing.
