MANHATTAN — A federal judge denied environmental attorney Steven Donziger's bid for a retrial on six counts of criminal contempt. Donziger was convicted in July of disobeying the orders of a federal judge in a case brought by Chevron accusing Donziger and his clients of obtaining a $9.8 billion verdict against the oil giant through fraud on Ecuador's court system.
