A class action in Los Angeles Federal Court challenges Southwestern & Pacific Specialty Finance's standard contracts for payday loans as unconscionable and deceptive. The contracts allegedly require arbitration, impose a 15 percent fee for payment extensions, and allow customers to pay off existing loans with new payday loans.
