Consumer Class Action

Corporate Screening Services failed to update the information on its employee background checks, causing employers to bypass their applications, claims a class of about 1,000 job seekers who were subjects of the investigative reports, in Orange County Court.

Vertrue Inc., formerly called MemberWorks Inc., tricked customers into enrolling in membership programs and charged their credit cards without consent, a class action claims in Pima County Court.

Molle Automotive of Kansas City dba Molle Toyota Inc. has been accused of charging illegal fees for preparing loan documents for hundreds of thousands of consumers, in Jackson County Court.

Chase Bank USA faces another class action, this one in Camden Federal Court, accusing it of hiking fees and interest rates after it lured customers into switching their credit card debt to a Chase card based on the false promise that the APR would remain fixed until they paid off the balance.

Midland Funding LLC and Mann Bracken LLP face a class action in Federal Court in Marshall, Texas, accusing them of violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
