Conservative Groups Launch Push in Support of Trump Judicial Nominees

Conservative groups are teaming up with a major push to speed up President Trump's judicial nominations to fill nearly 140 court vacancies.

WASHINGTON (CN) – Conservative groups are teaming up with a major push to speed up President Trump's judicial nominations to fill nearly 140 court vacancies.

As part of the effort, Judicial Crisis Network JNC has launched a $500,000 digital ad campaign encouraging conservatives to contact their Senators and urge them to change Senate rules to make the confirmation process faster.

The organization claims that Democrats are abusing Senate rules to obstruct and delay Trump's nominees, and supports a proposal from Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., to cut Senate debate for nominees down to eight hours from 30 hours.

"Democrats are blocking these nominees from getting a fair vote by taking the unprecedented step of demanding 30 hours of debate for every single nominee, wasting countless hours of floor time that could be used to confirm the leaders of our government or debate important policy issues," the JNC said in a statement Friday.

Calling it a "hidden scandal," the 30-second ad accuses Democrats of "Using gridlock and obstruction to keep liberals in control of our courts."

According to JNC, the Tea Party Patriots, Concerned Veterans for America, Susan B. Anthony List and Concerned Women for America will be launching email campaigns, phone banks and directing their members to attend town halls with Democratic lawmakers.
