Conservation, Infant Safety & More

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Commodity Credit Corporation has updated the terms and conditions of enrolling acreage in the Conservation Reserve Program and other eligibility requirements to implement certain provisions of the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act.

The program is to cost-effectively assist producers in conserving and improving soil, water, wildlife, and other natural resources by converting environmentally-sensitive acreage from the production of agricultural commodities to a long-term vegetative cover.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission plans to require manufacturers of durable infant or toddler products to: permanently place the manufacturer name and contact information, model name and number, and the date of manufacture on each product, provide each product with a postage-paid consumer registration form, and keep records of consumers who register the products with the manufacturer.
