Connecticut Says Billboard Company|Illegally Clearcut 83 White Oak Trees

HARTFORD (CN) - A billboard company illegally clearcut 83 mature, state-owned trees in Waterbury so drivers could see its billboards better from Interstate 84, the state claims in Superior Court. Connecticut demands quintuple damages, and that Lamar Advertising replace the trees, the largest of which was a white oak more than 3 feet in diameter at the trunk.
