Concealed carry

NEW YORK — A federal judge denied an Orthodox synagogue’s motion for preliminary injunction to prevent Governor Kathy Hochul from enforcing a law criminalizing concealed carry of firearms in any place of worship. The legislature has significant regulatory power over individuals’ ability to carry firearms in houses of worship, and the synagogue does not claim that the right to carry a firearm is rooted in religion.
