Computer Operator Says Lie Cost Him His Job

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (CN) - A computer operator was fired from St. Joseph Hospital after a hospital worker falsely accused him of sitting at his computer with "his shirt unbuttoned with his chest exposed and his pants down to his ankles with just his underwear on," Joseph Marshall claims in Superior Court.

Anthony Germani made the malicious, defamatory statement in a security incident report, the lawsuit says.

Though Marshall claims the allegation is "utterly false," it cost him his job and professional reputation.

He demands actual and punitive damages.
