Community Reinvestment

The National Community Reinvestment Coalition and the California Reinvestment Coalition’s suit against the Office of the Comptroller of Currency can continue, a federal court in California ruled. The coalitions claim the comptroller issued a final rule that “guts” the Community Reinvestment Act, which was passed to address systemic discrmination in the financial services provided to low and moderate-income communities.

SAN FRANCISCO — The National Community Reinvestment Coalition and the California Reinvestment Coalition’s suit against the Office of the Comptroller of Currency can continue, a federal court in California ruled. The coalitions claim the comptroller issued a final rule that “guts” the Community Reinvestment Act, which was passed to address systemic discrimination in the financial services provided to low- and moderate-income communities.
