A Texas appeals court affirmed it was in the best interest of a schizophrenic man accused of stalking to order the administration of psychoactive medication after he was found incompetent to stand trial; a psychiatrist testified the man was OK to take the medication despite his concerns of weight gain and heart problems.

FORT WORTH — A Texas appeals court upheld the forced medication of a man with schizophrenia so he stand trial on stalking charges. A psychiatrist testified the man was OK to take the medication despite his concerns of weight gain and heart problems.
