WASHINGTON (CN) - Commercial tree growers will be given assistance to replant or rehabilitate trees, bushes, and vines lost due to natural disaster, according to new Farm Bill rules.
When natural disaster has resulted in the death of 15 percent of the growers stock between Jan. 1, 2008, and Sept. 30, 2011, the Tree Assistance Program will supply assistance, according to the new requirements by the Farm Service Agency and Commodity Credit Corporation. The percentage accounts for usual tree mortality.
