Commercial Space Firm Goes Down

WILMINGTON, Del. (CN) - Sea Launch Co., the only remaining U.S.-based commercial satellite launcher, filed for bankruptcy this week, listing more than $1.9 billion in debts. The filing is expected to give European- and Russian-based companies a tremendous advantage in commercial space operations. Sea Launch owes Boeing, its partner and largest creditor, $977.5 million.
