An antitrust class action accuses U.S., Canadian and Ukrainian companies of fixing potash prices, in Chicago Federal Court.

Potash, or potassium carbonate, is used in fertilizers, soap and glassmaking. It got its name from the ancient practice of leaching wood ashes in a pot to obtain it.

Here are the defendants: Agrium Inc., Agrium US Inc., The Mosaic Co., Mosaic Crop Nutrition LLC, Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc., PCS Sales (USA) Inc., JSC Uralkali, RUE PA Belaruskali, RU PA Belarussian Potash Co., BPC Chicago, LLC, JSC Silvinit, and JSC International Potash Co.
