The United States sued Vulcan Materials and Florida Rock Industries in an antitrust complaint in DC Federal Court to stop Vulcan's proposed $4.6 billion acquisition of Florida Rock, which would reduce competition for coarse aggregate in the U.S. Southeast.

Elizabeth Baldwin dba Newportant Group fraudulently solicited and got more than $500,000 from investors for a commodity pool to trade futures contracts, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission claims in Manhattan Federal Court.
