Columbia Lab Manager Stole Money

MANHATTAN (CN) - The former manager of the Pediatric Neurosciences Department at Columbia University's Neurological Institute pleaded guilty Tuesday to defrauding the school of $180,000, federal prosecutors said. John Bzdil submitted phony invoices for scientific work and pocketed the money, and invoices for thousands more to buy stuff for himself and pay off his wedding expenses. Bzdil, 35, of Allentown, Pa., faces up to 20 years in prison at his June 25 sentencing.
