MINNEAPOLIS – A federal judge ruled that St. Cloud State University in Minnesota has failed to comply with Title IX. The public interest in “combating sex discrimination” overrides the university’s interest in eliminating women’s sports teams to “meet its financial goals.”

The university eliminated its women’s tennis and Nordic skiing team and did not create any intercollegiate women’s team for two decades.
