Collector Sues Chicago Art Gallery

CHICAGO (CN) - A doctor who collects 19th and 20th century American art claims a Michigan Avenue art dealer to whom he consigned 31 paintings refuses to return them or give him information about the works, include six that R.H. Love Galleries claims to have sold. The paintings include works by Mary Cassatt and James M. Whistler.

Dr. William Marshall demands an injunction and an accounting from the gallery and its owner, Richard H. Love, in Cook County Chancery Court. He is represented by Courtney Anderson with Mayer Brown.
