Cold-Case Deception

A Ninth Circuit panel affirmed a federal judge’s finding that a detective isn’t immune from civil rights claims brought by the family of a deceased crime lab technician, since he used deception to obtain a search warrant to raid the technician’s home in a cold-case murder investigation.
