WASHINGTON (CN) - And stay out! Protesters jumped into the water at Nawiliwili Harbor in Kauai on Aug. 26 and 27 to protest the Hawaii Superferry by blocking it from using the channel and docking. Several onlookers threw rocks and bottles from shore as the Coast Guard moved some of the protestors back to land. Now the Coast Guard has ordered people to stay out of Nawiliwili Harbor and off the jetty and roads leading to it when the ferry is coming. Protesters claim the public was not consulted on plans for the ferry, and say their environmental concerns have not been addressed.
