Coal Mining

DENVER - Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement violated environmental laws, including the Endangered Species Act, by allowing a surface coal mine on Navajo land that pollutes the San Juan and Chaco Rivers, the Center for Biological Diversity and a Navajo group claim in Federal Court.
