Coal intervention denied

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A coal industry trade association may not intervene as a defendant in conservation groups’ lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency, which it would like to develop total maximum daily loads for ionic toxicity in certain waters in the Lower Guyandotte River Watershed. The coal group, rules the court, has no interest in the suit and is only interested in disrupting a potential settlement.
