Clinton Lead in National |Polls Continues to Grow

(CN) - If only the whole country could be more like Idaho.

That has got to be what Donald Trump was saying Tuesday morning when an avalanche of new polls showed him largely getting trounced by Hillary Clinton.

An ABC News Tracking poll released Tuesday has the Democratic presidential candidate at 12-points above the GOP standard-bearer, and even Rasmussen Reports which Trump was touting Monday when it showed him in the lead now has Clinton ahead.

While Rasmussen only had Clinton ahead by 1 point on Tuesday, her move to the lead represents a swing of 3 points in just 24 hours. Yesterday, as Trump let everybody know both through his Twitter account and during a series of rallies in Florida, the respected poll had him up by 2 points a marked contrast to what he dismissed as those "phony" other polls.

Tuesday's Investor's Business Daily/TIPP poll and the Los Angeles Times/USC tracking poll also have Clinton up by 1 point.

Meanwhile, the NBC News/Survey Monkey poll shows Clinton with a 5-point lead in a four-person race that includes Libertarian Gary Johnson and the Green Party's Jill Stein.

Clinton's lead increases to 6 points when voters are asked to consider her in a head-to-head race against Trump.

The latest New York Times Upshot/Siena College poll, looking at the battleground state of North Carolina, also dealt the billionaire real estate developer a dose of bad news.

The analysis released Tuesday showed that Trump's standing in the state has deteriorated significantly over the past month.

Hillary Clinton now enjoys a 7­point lead over Trump in North Carolina, 46 percent to 39 percent, the survey found, in a three-way race including Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson.

Last month the same poll had the Democrat and Republican tied.

The poll bolsters the perception created by the national polls Clinton is steadily gaining in support among likely voters as Nov. 8 draws nearer.

But that's not to say Trump didn't have reason to take heart on Tuesday.

An Emerson College poll shows Trump with a commanding 29-point lead in Idaho, while a Talk Business/Hendrix College poll has Trump up by 23 points in Arkansas, Clinton's former home state.

A Gravis poll says Trump currently leads Clinton by 11 points in Iowa.

But at least one of these polls the one from Emerson College also holds some unsettling news for the Trump Campaign Mormons are not taken with him, and that could mean trouble not just in Idaho, but also in Nevada, Utah and Arizona.

Recent Emerson College polls should him tied or losing in the latter three states.

A deeper look at the Emerson College poll shows Clinton holding a slender lead, 37 percent to 36 percent in Idaho's Second Congressional District, which has a sizable Mormon population.
