Class Sues Skype over Gift Cards

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Skype illegally invalidates gift cards and keeps the money if a customer's account is inactive for 180 days, a class action claims in Superior Court. Skype charges a fee if a Skype subscriber uses its Voice Over Internet Protocol to contact a non-Skype customer.

Lead plaintiff Brian Carness also sued eBay. He is represented by Stephen Doniger with Doniger & Burroughs of Culver City.
