Class Says Sears Won’t Back Up Its Promise

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Sears Roebuck systematically refuses to back up its promise of "Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back" on expensive home appliances, a class action claims in Superior Court.

Named plaintiff Connie Han says Sears is the nation's fourth-largest retailer of home appliances. She say she paid $4,811 for a home air conditioner" $3,430 for the machine and $1,381 for labor.

She says the air conditioner failed after a few hours of work, and Sears' technician tried to fix it, could not, and that Sears refused to respond to her request for a refund. She claims Sears "systematically" refuses to honor its promise.

Plaintiffs are represented by Adam Gutride with Gutride Safier of San Francisco and Craig Borison of Encino.
