Class Says Microsoft’s Live Hotmail Charges|For Obnoxious, Unwanted Messages

CHICAGO (CN) - A class action claims Microsoft's Windows Live Hotmail service allows users to send unauthorized, unwanted text messages - which can be threatening and pornographic - to wireless phones, and to bill the recipients, and refuses to tell recipients how to opt out of receiving them. The class claims Microsoft rushed this obnoxious program to market to compete with Google and Yahoo!, and that Microsoft itself does not know how to cure this defect.

Named plaintiff Michael Criswell is represented in Cook County Court by Jay Edleson with Kamber Edelson.
