Class Says Bankers Life Cheats|On Long-Term Care Contracts

SEATTLE (CN) - Bankers Life and Casualty Co. breached contract and took millions of dollars in bad faith for long-term convalescent care policies, while concealing the inevitability of rate hikes, a class-action complaint claims in Federal Court. The elderly policyholders find themselves forced to "let their LTC policy lapse when they need coverage the most," and this has gone on since 1988, plaintiffs say.
