Class Contests General Mills’ Yogurt Ads

FORT LAUDERDALE (CN) - General Mills and its Yoplait subsidiary push "Yo-Plus" yogurt with false claims that it has "additional digestive health benefits that other yogurt products do not," a class action claims in Federal Court. "General Mills' own studies fail to support this advertising message, and a number of them flatly contradict General Mills' claims," the complaint states.

The complaint adds: "General Mills has no support for these claims, even though it states that it does, going so far as to claim it has clinical proof. General Mills' representations are false, misleading and reasonably likely to mislead the public."

The class is represented by Coughlin Stoia Geller.
