Class Claims Lennar Built Homes on Bombs

ORLANDO (CN) - Lennar Homes built and sold more than 400 homes on a World War II-era bombing range that still contains unexploded ordnance and toxic chemicals, without disclosing it to buyers, a class action claims in Federal Court. The class claims they became aware of this "when a live bomb was found on land behind Odyssey Middle School," built, like the houses, on the Pinecastle Bombing Range.

Since the bomb and the old bombing range came to light, the class members "have watched their home values plummet and become potentially uninsurable," the complaint states. "They also have been put in a constant state of fear for their personal safety and the safety of their families."

The claim involves the Lee Vista Square residential community and the Warwick subdivision of the Vista Lakes residential community. The class demands punitive damages for intentional misconduct and gross negligence. It is represented by Robert Robbins with Coughlin Stoia Geller of Boca Raton.
