Class Claims Heartburn Drug Prilosec|Increases Risk of Food Poisoning

TULSA (CN) - A federal class action claims that Procter & Gamble's and AstraZeneca's over-the-counter drug Prilosec increases the risk of food-borne illnesses. The class claims the drug, "Omeprazole magnesium delayed-release tablets," neutralizes stomach acid that protects people from harmful bacteria.

The putative class is represented by William Federman of Oklahoma City.
