Class Claims GM Avalanche Windows Leak

ST. LOUIS (CN) - General Motors' Avalanche has defective, leaky windows, a class action claims in Federal Court. Named plaintiff Robert Atwell says he returned his 2006 Avalanche five times for ineffective repairs.

Atwell says the window panels, which leak any fluid that comes into contact with them, reduce the Avalanche's usefulness, value and safety. He claims that it makes it impossible for the Avalanche to carry any cargo or passengers, is a dangerous distraction for the driver, and that consumers must drive the Avalanche with the defect or return the vehicle for constant, ineffective repairs.

The class is represented by David Bauman. Cupp Chevrolet, where Atwell bought the vehicle, is also named as a defendant.
