Class Challenges Extended Warranty Timing

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Five Superior Court class actions claim that extended warranties on autos should not begin running until the factory warranty expires, but that Ford, Toyota and others run them concurrently. Plaintiffs say that's double-billing, and prohibited by law.

Named as defendants are CNA National Warranty Corp., Toyota Financial Services, Ford Motor Credit Co., PRCO, and Mechanical Breakdown administrators.

Plaintiffs in all cases are represented by A. Clifton Hodges of Pasadena.
