Class Calls Hydroxycut Claims Bogus

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Iovate Health Sciences has defrauded the public of "millions of dollars" by claiming that its "Hydroxycut" diet supplement "burns calories," a class action claims in Superior Court.

Plaintiffs say Iovate sells its product with a welter of false claims, including that it "controls appetite," that it is a "clinically proven way" to lose weight, that it has been "scientifically proven to help you lose weight fast and control your appetite," and that it can cause "weight loss of up to 4.5 times more than diet and exercise alone."

Represented by Wayne Kreger with Milstein Adelman & Krieger, plaintiffs demand damages with interest, and an injunction.
