Class Action Demands Damages| For Ohio Train Derailment

PAINESVILLE, OHIO (CN) - More than 200 people who were evacuated after a CSX Transportation train derailed on Oct. 10, burning and releasing toxic black smoke, have filed a class-action complaint against CSX in Lake County Court.

The train spilled ethanol, propane, phthalic anhydride and other chemicals that burned for more than a day. The class of people and businesses within one-half mile of the track demands medical monitoring and damages for injuries, property loss and damage, emotional distress, pain and suffering, economic damage, expenses, and damages for negligence and recklessness.
